All,
Social networking is changing the way that everyone gets their information. News programs ask you to follow them on facebook, atheletes tweet information to their fans on twitter, and Ashton Kutcher posts a video of himself with or without a wedding ring to get a message to his fans. Think about social networking and it's impact on society today. Are businesses able to get information to consumers better? Should social networking be used in education? How can Facebook help stimulate the economy? Is there ever too much information?
Remember - Think outside of the box...
I think that social networking is better for businesses because people are always on the internet, and they are always watching tv or on their phone so either way word is going to get around about a new product or whatever the message is that your trying to get across. Facebook can help stimulate the economy because a lot of people use facebook for personal reasons or business reasons. A lot of people that have like pages on facebook probably have little advertisements about their business which gets them money so that can help stimulate the economy. I don't think that there is ever too much information because there could be things you don't know that you might need to know, and you don't want to seem ignorant. I myself like to know a lot of things because I just like being kept up to date. Too much information could be offensive though because a lot of people say to much that people don't want to know, and if the know all of the truth it could affect them in a bad way. As an example it's like saying the world is going to end in 2012 that's knowing too much information because your sharing information with others which is scaring people, and preparing people for the "end" which is not true. A lot of people know to much for their own good. Other than I think that social networking should be used in education because it can be helpful to be able to get on the internet, and find the answer to a question that you or another person may not know. I myself use the internet for homework a lot..if I need to look up definitions for a word I don't know I can just go to dictionary.com. Social networking can be very useful to students when it comes to education.

I think social networking should be used in education because like if there was a question you didnt really know the answer too u could just look it up rather than just wasting time thinking about it. I think Facebook could help simulate economy because lots of people use it for there own reasons,like what happens in the economy now a days. Also, if like businesses have their own pages on facebook and lots of people like it would be like real life because in real life people have an int rest in those companies.I think there could and could not be too inforamtion beacuse it depends on what youre looking at lets say you are studying a new planet there really can't be oo much information because you want and want more as if there was something as like gossip on celebrities i think there could be too much information on it
ReplyDeleteI think that businesses on a social network would be better because lots of people are on the internet a lot.No I don't think social networking would be good for education because there will always be a distraction upon on it.Facebook can help stimulate the economy because since there is a lot of people on facebook and posting info would interest some people into learning more about it.

i think using the internet would be better for businesses because its faster and better and a majority of the people use it. i think it should be used in education because it would be good for students like us because it would give us so many options to choose from. we wouldn't have limited answers to our questions and information. students may not have the proper concentration that they should have. i think facebook would be another good way to communicate because a lot of people use it for business. you can never get enough information, there is always something new and improved to learn. when it comes to personal information then i think there should be a limit. if people post or write something that may be to personal then it may end up effecting people in the long run.
ReplyDeleteI think using the internet is a great way to spread information about a business. Most people don’t watch the news anymore,so it’s a more efficient way of getting things out there faster. I think social networking shouldn’t be mixed with education because,yeah it would be cool to use Facebook or Twitter at school but,mixing school and social networking could lead to inappropriate relationships between teachers and students. I think something else would work better like a blog but definetly not Facebook. Facebook is good for business though,because it gets companies noticed. I know I have seen the ads on the side of my screen for websites and sometimes (If they look coolXD) I click them. There is never too much information about certain topics. Like science you can never learn too much because new things are discovered daily. When it comes to other things like somebody elses life you shouldn’t know everything..thats considered stalking.(seriously.-_-) Thats why I disagree with mixing school and Facebook the teachers could creep on your page,comment on your statuses,like your photos,or see something you say about them. That could end badly.
ReplyDeleteI think that social networking is better for a company because it extends the company's reach from just a few people to around the world. I think it should be used for education because it makes it easier for people to communicate with each other. I think that social networking makes it easier to also so ads to people and tell people about a certain group or product. I don't think that their can ever be too much information because people constantly need to take in more information and things constantly change so people need to keep being informed
ReplyDeleteI think businesses can get info from consumers better because they can put up pages and blogs to inform their consumers about new things coming to the company. I do not believe that social networks can be used for education because you barely see posts on education and kids will improperly use it for personal business like they do now. I think that social networks can stimulate the economy and they cannot. They can because like I said, businesses can get the word out to people and people can make money off of them. They cannot because while people are posting they are less likely to go out and buy things to help businesses thrive and other things like that. I do believe that there is to much information. People post and tell you things that you don't need and want to hear. So, yeah, that's my opinion. :P
ReplyDeleteI think that social networking sites are a better way to promote buisnesses because a lot of people use them and they could see the advertisement for the company and want to use the product or service. I also think that social networking sites shouldn't be used for school because students could easily stray from the lesson. They can help our economy because they can advertise the company and their goods/services. I also don't think that there is too much information.
ReplyDeleteUsing the internet is a fantastic way to spread information. Lets say Apple wants to say when the Iphone 5 will hit the stores. They share it on Facebook and then the stock prices soar to a great price. Then people are making money and their happy. I don`t think using the networks in Classrooms is a good idea. There`s alot of rumors that are inappropriate for school. I do think that Facebook will be able to help the economy in many ways. One of the ways is letting the world know what products a company will be releaseing or planning to release
ReplyDeleteI think that social networking sites are better because lots of people have technology and they use it more than they use newspaper or anything else it could teach people how to use a computer and how to get information about anything and almost everything so i think thats a great way.

ReplyDeleteYes i do think that the internet is a great way for businesses to better connect with consumers. For example, if a toy company comes out with a new toy they can post it on Facebook and see who likes and dislikes it. i don't think that social networking should be used in schools because kids would get easily distracted and would spend their time talking (well technically) instead of doing their work. Facebook can stimulate the economy because it can make small businesses know. Another example is how Justin Beiber got discovered. He was just a small town Canadian kid who could sing, but he would've just stayed that way if he hadn't got discovered on Youtube. The same thing could happen with a small business and Facebook. The exposure is a good thing. The final question: no i don't think there is such a thing a too much information.
ReplyDeleteI think social networking is a great way to comunicate.Like Mary said,its an efficient way to get information from one place to another in a short time!Chatting,skyping,and IMing are just some ways to communicate.I think that facebook is a little open,what if a teacher,parent,or someone you know,see a post that was sent to a specific person that was sent over open channels?thats what messages,texting and chatting on closed channels are for!Social networking could be used for education just like were doing now!You can post questions on blogs,and students can comment the answers!I think facebook will still be a huge social networking site for many years to come.People can see what is going on,the newest news,the latest fads,and newest stocks.business would run a little smoother if they used facebook to communicate abut stocks.Yes,i feel that we have overloaded the internet with too much junk.There are too many ads,games,and informationless websites.

I think that social networking helps businesses with their customers. I feel that social networking is very important and it SHOULD be used towards education because it will help children understand more. A lot of people has facebook pages, so much information can be used towards that, since everyone can see it. I really dont conclude that there is too much information.!

ReplyDeleteI believe that the speed of which we can send info greatly affects social networking. Back then when we wanted to send a letter to someone it could take days,weeks,or even months. Today it would take seconds to minutes. I agree that businesses can contact their consumers faster than ever. I disagree that social networking should be used in school. The only reason is that instead of learning through electronics we still should use a pencil and paper to remember how to right and spell instead of having a machine do it for them. Facebook could be used to stimulate to economy because the companies can put up polls. The idea of to much info can be dangerous because if you hold to much info on your comp it could overload and ''boom!'' its gone.
